How does Xeomin work in the body?
Xeomin is used to treat muscle spasms and pain. Once XEOMIN has been injected into the muscles, it starts to inhibit acetylcholine from being released. It is this chemical which makes fibres in the muscle to contract, so without acetylcholine, muscles will contract less, resulting in less spasms and discomfort to the individual. Who should not use Xeomin?
Patients who have bleeding disorders of any type.
Patients who have generalised disorders of muscle activity, e.g. myasthenia gravis.
Individuals with a known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.
Pregnant or lactating women.
How long will the results last?
Results can vary, but typically last for three months.
